Jack Aitken Secures Pole for Whelen Cadillac at Rolex 24: Full Qualifying Highlights (2026)

Get ready for an exciting race weekend as we dive into the thrilling world of the Rolex 24! Jack Aitken's Pole Position Performance has everyone talking, and we're here to break it down for you.

Aitken, the 30-year-old racing sensation, put on an incredible show, clocking an astonishing 1 minute and 33.939 seconds in his Cadillac V-Series.R. With just three laps to go, he secured the top spot, leaving the competition in his wake.

"It's an incredible feeling to start like this," Aitken shared. "The car's potential was evident from the get-go, and we knew we had something special. But we're not getting ahead of ourselves; it's just one lap out of many. The real challenge begins this weekend, and we're ready for it."

And what a challenge it was! Renger van der Zande, piloting the Acura ARX-06, came close but finished a mere 0.102 seconds behind. Louis Deletraz, in the Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing entry, was third, just 0.130 seconds off the pace.

But here's where it gets controversial...

The halfway point of the session saw some drama unfold. Marco Wittman, driving the BMW M Team WRT entry, spun in Turn 1 after a hybrid issue in the opening practice. Shortly after, van der Zande took the top spot with a quick 1:34.067 lap.

Felipe Nasr, of Porsche Penske Motorsport, applied intense pressure, especially in the first sector, but it wasn't enough to dethrone Aitken.

Nasr ultimately finished fourth, just ahead of Tom Blomqvist in the Acura Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06.

As the session drew to a close, the Acura ARX-06, driven by van der Zande, slowed down halfway through the lap, leading to speculation about fuel issues.

In other classes, Jeremy Clarke muscled his way to a class pole in LMP2, while Alexander Sims dominated the GTD Pro class. Zacharie Robichon earned the GTD class pole, marking his second class pole in the Rolex 24.

So, who do you think will take the win in this intense 24-hour race? Will Aitken's pole position translate into a victory?
