Now, with the drug test revelation out in the open, Yafai believes the record should be corrected. “Definitely, that fight should be overturned,” he argued. “I think it will be. UKAD and the British Boxing Board are working on it, but these processes take time. Hopefully, it’s sorted sooner rather than later.”
In the meantime, he’s channeling the frustration into motivation. “It pushes me,” Yafai said. “I’m ready to move forward and fight for the world title. Ricardo Sandoval has the belts, and that’s my focus now. This setback might just be a small bump in my journey. I’m coming back stronger.”
